About Max Leutschaft

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist–Candidate based in Denver, Colorado. My path to becoming a therapist began in the social work field, where I spent over six years working with individuals and families navigating complex life circumstances, including at-risk youth, developmental disabilities, and systems of care that often felt overwhelming or difficult to navigate.

That experience shaped how I understand people. I learned early on that individuals do not exist in isolation—we are deeply influenced by our relationships, environments, and life experiences. This systems perspective continues to guide my work as a therapist.

In therapy, I focus on creating a space that is genuine, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I aim to meet people where they are while also helping them understand the patterns that may be keeping them stuck. My style is both supportive and direct, with an emphasis on insight and practical, solution-focused change.

I work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, grief, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I am especially drawn to helping clients better understand communication patterns, emotional connection, men’s issues, and the ways past experiences continue to show up in the present.

At the core of my work is a simple belief: people make sense in context. When we begin to understand that context, real and lasting change becomes possible.
